DIVISIONS

Athletics
The Georgia Southern Eagles compete nationally on the Division I level (I-AA for football). About 400 student-athletes participate in 15 sports. Georgia Southern fields 6 men’s teams (football, baseball, basketball, tennis, soccer, and golf) and 9 women’s teams (volleyball, cross country, soccer, swimming, basketball, indoor and outdoor track, softball, and tennis), and is a member of the Southern Conference. go

Auxiliary Services
Auxiliary Services provides many of the products and services necessary to support the educational needs of the campus community and to enhance the lives of Georgia Southern students, faculty, and staff. Its departments include Food Services, University Housing, Health Services, Parking and Transportation, and Stores and Shops. go

Controller's Division
The Controller’s Division performs financial and business services for the University. These activities include financial accounting, revenue accounting, budgets, grants and contracts, payroll, purchasing, equipment inventory, equipment transport services, central stores and receiving, records management, telecommunications services, mail services, and tax management. go

Human Resources
With more than 1,800 regular employees entitled to benefits and a substantial number of temporary and student employees, Georgia Southern is the largest employer in Bulloch County and one of the largest in the area. The employment, job classification, salary, and training programs, in addition to ten major benefits plans are designed to attract, retain, and motivate a highly-qualified, diverse workforce. go

Physical Plant
Physical Plant is responsible for developing the building programs for major renovation and new construction, the campus master plan, and maintenance of campus grounds and facilities. Physical Plant maintains the 675-acre campus, and more than 4,000,000 square feet of space in about 150 facilities. go

Public Safety
Public Safety operates as a fully-certified law enforcement agency and handles calls for service and those dealing with criminal acts within the jurisdiction of Georgia Southern. Public Safety is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and employs 29 sworn police officers, all of whom are certified as law enforcement officers by the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Council. go

Licensing and Trademark Administration
The Office of Licensing and Trademark Administration is managed by the Assistant to the Vice President for Business and Finance and is operated to protect and promote Georgia Southern’s names and trademarks. All manufacturers of products bearing the trademarks of Georgia Southern are required to sign license agreements and pay royalties back to the University for use of the marks. These royalties are used to fund the licensing program and provide an added source of revenue to support Athletics. go
