Statewide Paging System
The statewide paging system is provided by the Georgia Technology Authority (GTA)
and provides one number access to statewide paging. The entire state is one
calling zone. You can access the statewide paging system by dialing a toll-free
800 number. Please note that the paging system will not support statewide voice
paging.
Paging Rates
The paging rate structure is based upon the type of pager (numeric or
alphanumeric). This includes rental, maintenance and insurance for all pagers.
Also included is the toll-free 800 access number, statewide coverage, and the
ability to make group calls.
Numeric Pager - $7.00 per month
In order to page someone that has a numeric pager, a true touchtone telephone is
required.
Alphanumeric Pager- $10.00 per month
Instructions for Calling The Toll-Free 800 Number for Numeric and
Alphanumeric Paging
Dial 1-800-829-CALL(2255). At the sound of the tone, enter the seven digit pager
number.
After entering your numeric message, enter the # symbol to indicate completion
of your message.

How Do I Get a Pager?
Send a Purchase Requisition to Telecommunications P.O. Box 8025. The requisition
must be signed by the Department Budget Head.
How long does it take to get a pager after submitting a purchase
requisition?
After the requisition is submitted, it takes about 3 days to obtain the pager.
What do I do when my battery runs out?
You may use petty cash to purchase an Alkaline battery from a local store.
Telecommunications does not keep a stock of batteries on hand.
What should I do if my case, clip or chain breaks?
You may get replacements for all of these items from Telecommunications, ext.
