What are the criteria for identification?
- The Georgia Board of Regents (BOR) criteria for LD and ADHD are available at the following Academic Affairs Handbook websites:
- Previous documentation (Outside Evaluations) will be reviewed by the RCLD staff for compliance with BOR criteria. Assessment must be done by a qualified (credentialed) evaluator, must have been completed within the past three years, and state the existence of a specific learning disability and/or ADHD.
Who qualifies for an evaluation?
- Students currently attending or accepted, or those with a previous diagnosis seeking admission to one of the universities or colleges served by the RCLD at Georgia Southern (see list above).
How do I know if I should be evaluated?
- If you are having: Academic Difficulties, a history of learning problems; attentional problems; communication difficulties, or difficulties taking standardized tests.
What do I have to do to be evaluated?
- Contact the Disabilities Counselor on your campus.
- Obtain and complete a testing packet.
A $250.00 deposit is required when the completed packet is turned in to the Disabilities Counsel at your institution, and forwarded to the RCLD. The balance of $250.00 is due on the day of the scheduled initial interview.What does the testing process consist of?
- Initial interview, screening, and preliminary testing.
- Evaluation: Full day individualized assessment.
