What are the criteria for identification?

Who qualifies for an evaluation?

  • Students currently attending or accepted, or those with a previous diagnosis seeking admission to one of the universities or colleges served by the RCLD at Georgia Southern (see list above).

How do I know if I should be evaluated?

  • If you are having:  Academic Difficulties, a history of learning problems; attentional problems; communication difficulties, or difficulties taking standardized tests.

What do I have to do to be evaluated?

  • Contact the Disabilities Counselor on your campus.
  • Obtain and complete a testing packet.
    A $250.00 deposit is required when the completed packet is turned in to the Disabilities Counsel at your institution, and forwarded to the RCLD. The balance of $250.00 is due on the day of the scheduled initial interview.

What does the testing process consist of?

  • Initial interview, screening, and preliminary testing.
  • Evaluation:  Full day individualized assessment.
        ­ Sample of testing instruments which may be used during full testing day evaluation battery
  • Feedback:  Receive comprehensive report of results and recommendations for accommodations.

What are the requirements for obtaining an evaluation from another professional that meet Board of Regents criteria?
