Merit Awards Ceremony

Please find attached nomination information regarding the 2009 Merit Awards of Excellence Ceremony.  As many are aware, each year eight Classified and/or Administrative Professional employees are selected from campus nominations to receive a Merit Award, which is based upon meritorious job performance during the last year. During the ceremony, recipients of the Merit Award will receive a check for $1000 and a medallion acknowledging their outstanding and meritorious service. The Ceremony will also include the recognition and acknowledgment of staff employees for their years of service to Georgia Southern University.

Nominations for the Merit Awards can be submitted until December 18, 2008.  On December 19, a list of all nominee's will be published for all employees to view. Staff Council representatives will then review the submissions during January and early February. The Awards Ceremony will start at ten o’clock a.m. on April 8, 2009 in the Performing Arts Center.  A Staff Appreciation Luncheon will immediately follow the ceremony.
