If you have NOT yet installed WinMX, do the following:

1. While installing the software, you will see the following window:
   

   Select any folders listed in the box. Then click on Unshare Selected Folder(s).

   

   When all folders have been removed, choose Next.

If you HAVE installed WinMX, do the following:

1. Open WinMX software.
2. Select Shared Files.

3. Your shared folders will be listed in the box. Select Unshare Folder and choose each folder that is listed.

4. Once there are no folders listed, your screen should look like this-

5. Close WinMX.
