NetStorage

Novell NetStorage can be used to access files stored on the network from anywhere on campus. These files are usually located in your home or work directory. The home and work directories are usually mapped as H: and R: respectively on your local machine. You must have a Novell account to use NetStorage.

To access NetStorage follow these steps:

  1. Go to http://ifolder.georgiasouthern.edu/
  2. Click on the link for Novell NetStorage

Click Yes to proceed to the login screen.

  1. Enter your Novell username and password

Note: If you are already logged into Novell on your workstation, you will not be asked for your username and password.

After logging in, use the panel on the left side of the page to navigate your folders.

Before using NetStorage to access files, click on Tools – Pop-up Blocker – Always Allow Pop-ups from this site.

To edit or open a file, follow these steps:

  1. Put a check in the check box next to the file name

  1. Click on File

  1. Select Download from the drop down menu

  1. Save the file to a physical location on the computer

Note: Internet Explorer may block the download of the file. If this occurs, right click the information bar and select ‘Download File'. Then repeat steps 1 – 4.

To upload a file, follow these steps:

  1. Click on File

  1. Select Upload

  1. Browse to the file you want to upload and click Upload

Note: You will also notice an option for Download and Lock from the File menu. This option locks a file so another user can not edit it while you are working on it. However, it is not recommended to use this because if you do not upload the file when you finish working on it, other users can not use the file.
