GroupWise Instructions For RetireesGeorgia Southern is moving all e-mail account for faculty, staff, and retirees to GroupWise accounts. IT Services encourages retirees to use GroupWise on the web. For instructions on this, see Web Module 16 - Assessing GroupWise Using Your Web Browser. If a retiree prefers to use other e-mail software, this can be set up using the instructions below. We do not have a license to install GroupWise on personal (non-Georgia Southern) computers. Here are instructions for using Eudora to check your GroupWise e-mail. 1. Open Eudora and check your e-mail to retrieve any messages from the server. 2. Choose Tools then Options. Under the Category Getting Started, use groupwise.georgiasouthern.edu for Mail Server Incoming. Your screen should match this (except using your name instead of John Doe's!) If you are off-campus, using an external Internet Service Provider (ISP) to access your Georgia Southern e-mail, you will input the Outgoing Server (or SMTP) server name specified by your ISP (if you already have one listed, just leave it). Here are ones that are often used by the Georgia Southern community-
3. Click on the Category Incoming Mail and make your setting match these. Your future messages will be downloaded to your computer and deleted from the server. 4. Send us an e-mail message to accounts@georgiasouthern.edu and let us know that you are ready to be converted. We will disable your old account and new messages will go to your GroupWise account. If you have questions, call us at (912) 681-5429 or email helpdesk@georgiasouthern.edu
