GroupWise Training Module 6 - Using The Calendar

Calendar Views

You can use the icons on the upper left part of your screen to quickly move to a different date. Use the arrows next to these to navigate -

  • one day
  • one week
  • one month
  • one year
  • icon with the sun- moves you back to today's date.

There are several different calendar views with GroupWise. Click on Calendar from your list on the left to open your calendar. In the upper right part of the screen, you will see the icons for the 5 different calendar views-

  • shows one day
  • shows one week
  • shows one month
  • shows one year
  • icon with 2 people - shows the Multi-User mode. If you have been granted the rights to another GroupWIse user's calendar, you can use this view to see multiple calendars.

Next to the Multi-User icon, you will see three more icons. These allow you to-

  • Show/Hide Appointments
  • Show/Hide Tasks
  • Show/Hide Notes

Keeping your calendar up-to-date

To get the most out of GroupWise, you need to keep your calendar up-to-date. You can enter your own appointments, classes or meetings but setting an appointment for yourself as we covered in Module 5 but an easier way is to use the Posted Appointment option.

  1. Open your calendar and click on the 1 day view.
  2. Double-click on a time and a Posted Appointment box will open.
  3. You will note that there is no To field like there is on regular appointments; this is because Posted Appointments only include yourself. Fill in the desired fields and then click Post.
  4. The appointment will be listed on your calendar.

If you want to include an event that does not have an associated time (like your birthday), advance to that date in the 1 day view and type the event in the Notes field. If you want to create a task for a certain day, advance to that date in the 1 day view and type the event in the Tasks field. You will be able to create Starting and Ending times for your task.
