Step 2: Setting up and Installing
your Equipment
You should have obtained the proper equipment for your residence
hall in Step One before you start this step.
Direct-wired Connections
Setting up a direct-wired connection is fairly straightforward; there
are no special settings that you must use for GSNet. Follow the manufacturer’s
instructions to install the card and drivers.
Once your card is installed, plug your cable into the wall
and into your computer. Open any web browser, such as Internet Explorer,
Safari, Firefox, Opera, etc. If your network settings are configured properly,
you should be automatically redirected to the authentication page. Follow
the instructions there to log in and connect. More details on Clean Access
are listed here http://cca.georgiasouthern.edu/
If you have trouble or are unsure about what to do, IT Services
can help. Student Technicians are available to help students get connected
to GSNet. Call (912) 681-5429 or e-mail helpdesk@georgiasouthern.edu for
assistance.
