Your have two choices for your Georgia Southern e-mail account – your alias, which is your firstname_middleinitial_lastname@georgiasouthern.edu (please note that there is an underscore between firstname_middleinitial_lastname), or your username to log into my.georgiasouthern.edu – i.e., firlast1@georgiasouthern.edu . The username is a combination of your first initial and last name with a number, totaling no more than 8 characters.
If you have already changed your password but have forgotten it, you can reset your password on by going to https://my.georgiasouthern.edu/ and clicking on Click Here if you have forgotten your password . This will reset your password back to the original, your Eagle ID. |

| All student accounts are created with a quota of 50 megabytes. Delete e-mail that you do not need off the Georgia Southern server so that you do not go over the quota. Note that you can check to see how much space you have used by logging into https://my.georgiasouthern.edu/ and looking at the header above your mailbox. |

| Log in to https://my.georgiasouthern.edu/ , click on your email icon and then click on the Options link located in the top right of the e-mail window. Click on Forward, click on the radial button next to YES in the Forward line and in the next line type the email address next to Forward. Now click the Apply button in the top left corner of the window. Please send yourself a test e-mail and make sure it arrives in your forwarded account. |

| Students cannot change their e-mail account name or alias because the alias is automatically generated. The only exception is when the student legally changes his/her name. |

account ever expire? |
| Yes, student e-mail accounts expire when students are no longer enrolled for classes. Note that the account will work for a few months so you have time to transition to a new e-mail account. Accounts are not deleted during the summer months so if you leave for the summer, your e-mail will still work when you return in the fall. |

- Use a web browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape) to access your mail through https://my.georgiasouthern.edu .
- Forward your Georgia Southern e-mail to an existing e-mail account. If you have an account that you are already familiar with, you can send all of your Georgia Southern mail there so that you just have one place to check it. See instructions below on how to set this up.
If you are unsure about what method to use, we suggest that you use the first option above, your web browser for https://my.georgiasouthern.edu . This method is easy to use, can be used from any web browser and you do not have to set up anything. |

| Question: I am part of
a student organization. How can I get an e-mail address for
our organization? |
Officially recognized student organizations can request an e-mail account for their organization. Student organization accounts are required to have a faculty/staff member sponsor. Go to http://services.georgiasouthern.edu/its/sfaaccount.php and look under Student Organization Advisors. Have the sponsor fill out the form and have your sponsor fax in the completed form. Within 3-5 business days, the sponsor will receive notification by campus mail that the e-mail account and password have been setup.
