Health Services' normal operating hours on business days are 8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday during semesters.
Students are encouraged to make an appointment to receive medical services at the student Health Center by calling 912-478-5484. While many students visit the student Health Center on a walk-in basis, without an appointment, they usually have a longer waiting period than do those students who make an appointment. Our student patients have indicated they like the ability to schedule their medical appointments to fit within their busy schedules.
Another benefit of scheduling appointments for medical services is the significant reduction in the waiting period for walk-in patients during peak times (mornings and afternoons) when the patient load is spread out over the course of the business day. Student patients using the Health Center after 4:30 p.m. who do not require immediate attention will be given an appointment for next day care.
Students who have made an appointment with Health Services should allow adequate time for their medical visits so the nursing and medical staff can provide them with the excellent quality of care which they deserve. Students should arrive at the Health Center at least 10 to 15 minutes prior to their schedule appointment to allow adequate time for their check-in paperwork to be completed. If students cannot keep an appointment, it is their responsibility to call the Health Center Appointment Office 912-478-5484 to cancel or reschedule their appointment.
