| The Physical Plant Division is budgeted for labor and material costs to maintain and repair the facilities of the University. These funds do not cover the custom fabrication of furniture to include bookcases and wall-mounted shelving. Departments having need for these items are encouraged to purchase off-the-shelf furniture using catalogs available in the Materials Management Division office. Another option is to contact Property Control to investigate the availability of used University furniture that could serve the purpose. There is normally no charge for used furniture and it may be refinished by the Physical Plant without charge should the surface be marred or discolored. If space considerations or other requirements dictate that custom fabrication is the only practical solution, requesting departments will be charged for both the labor and materials used to create the piece. We will gladly provide estimates of the total cost prior to proceeding with custom work. All requests for furniture construction must be accompanied by full justification and must be approved by the Director of Physical Plant. |
