The Facilities Design and Construction Management is responsible for coordinating the planning, programming, designing, and contracting administration services of the Physical Plant Division, as well as the Energy Management, Recycling, and ADA Compliance programs. We work with external companies, state agencies, and campus constituents to ensure projects are completed in a professional and timely manner while adhering to the University's standards and budgets and state procurement procedures.

The design group provides professional architectural and engineering services to meet the needs of Georgia Southern University. We are committed to providing timely and cost effective planning and design services for new facilities and for the repair, renovation, and alteration of existing facilities. We are committed to providing fully functional and code compliant facilities that enhance the University's ability to attract, retain, and educate the best students and thus provide world class learning opportunities.

The Facilities Inventory System is a module within Banner that is used to record information about Georgia Southern University buildings, the space within those buildings, and how that space is being used. The maintenance of this information is important to Georgia Southern and the University System of Georgia as a whole to allow for the effective management of all physical facilities. The project management team is responsible for contract administration, project coordination, site safety, and quality control. We are "boots on the ground" and represent the University's constituents and interests.

Our Energy Management staff manages campus energy usage and projects future energy needs for the University. The department develops effective strategies to manage energy consumption. We initiate projects to decrease energy usage across our campus. We recycle the energy savings into more energy reducing projects. We stay in close communication with our energy providers to keep the University on the leading edge of energy saving technology.

We are committed to increasing the community's awareness to the benefits of recycling. Our staff is responsible for managing the University's recycling program to insure proper collection and handling of recycled materials. We also implement projects to maintain ADA accessibility across our campus and we identify and eliminate abatement issues.
