Design and Construction Standards

This set of guidelines was created for the benefit of both the consulting Architect/Engineer (A/E) and the support staff of Georgia Southern University. The intent of these guidelines is not to limit the ingenuity or originality of the A/E, but to provide direction which reflects the goal of this University to assure high quality and efficient support systems for the new or existing facilities on our campus.

These guidelines are drawn from the conclusions of our maintenance, and design and construction management staff and have resulted from the observed or potential failure of systems that are currently operating on campus. In addition these guidelines reflect our intention to be energy efficient and environmentally safe in the design and operation of support equipment and systems.
