This project will do extensive renovations in the Foy Building to convert it from a general arts instructional facility to a music facility. Carter Auditorium will be renovated, and a new lobby will be added to it. The building's mechanical and electrical infrastructure will be totally replaced. Modifications to existing spaces and technology upgrades will be included in the work.

Punch out inspection was done and the contractor continues to correct items. Painting, floor tiles and carpet continued on the 1st floor, addition, and concert hall. General cleanup was conducted. Installation of electrical items and light fixtures continued in the building addition area. Brick pavers were completed. Installation of ornamental rails and carpet.

Ongoing HVAC Testing and balancing, final touch up paint, door and door hardware adjustments. Punch List items are being corrected. Wood trim, cherry wood floor, brick pavers, electrical items and light fixtures ere installed. Certificate of occupancy issued by fire marshal except for the addition and the recital hall. Faculty, staff, and students moved into the building and classes began on January 12, 2009.

HVAC Testing and balancing, final touch up on paint, door and door hardware adjustments are ongoing. Stair treads for the Recital Hall have been installed. Punch out inspection was done and the contractor continues to correct items listed. Painting, floor tiles and carpet continued on the 1st floor. Acoustical panels were installed in the Recital Hall. General cleanup was conducted. Installation of electrical items and light fixtures continued. Cherry wood panels were completed in the addition area. Brick pavers began.

Ongoing HVAC testing and balancing. Completed window glass and curtain wall. Painting, metal trim, Doors and door hardware on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors, and adjustments to swings and hardware. Punch out Inspection conducted. Annex railing completed. Installed bathroom paper towel and trash containers, Floor tiles and carpet, electrical conduit, acoustical ceiling panels, and back wall panels. The asphalt parking lot was removed, the site graded, and topsoil added.

HVAC ductwork and equipment continued. Window glass and curtain wall installation. Painting. Recital Hall conduit and wiring. Doors and door hardware on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors. Adjustments to swings and hardware. The ramp for the annex was poured and railing has begun. Bathroom partitions, mirrors, accessories, and fire extinguisher cabinets installed. Testing/balancing of HVAC equipment. Installing cabinets, acoustical wall panels, ceiling acoustical panels, recording sound booths, handrails, cherry wood floors, tile and carpet, and light fixtures were being installed. Painting in annex and second floor. Tile placed in the restrooms.

HVAC ductwork and equipment continued to be tested and is being run continuously. Window glass and curtain wall were installed. Painters painted in the Annex. Third and fourth floor finish coats were placed and painters began on the second floor. Wiley Electric is hanging light fixtures and coordinating with HVAC duct and drain lines to make room for the lights. Tile was placed in the restrooms.

Electrical contractor continues installing conduit/wires/main switching in the Foy building Addition and the began the installation of light fixtures. Mechanical equipment was tested and prepared for transformer start-up. Installed additional power switches, placing grilles on 3rd and 4th floors.
The plumbing installation is progressing on the first floor addition of the building. Insulation and floor drains are completed. Penetrations in the ceilings on the 3rd and 4th floors are being coordinated with light fixtures and miscellaneous duct work continues. Drywall finishing is progressing on the 1st and 2nd floors. Hard ceiling panels are being installed. Painting is progressing and preparations for the final coat are being made. Stone masonry for outside wall was placed. Fire Sprinkler piping is continuing on the 1st floor auditorium. Window frames and storefront installation on the 1st and 2nd floors are continuing. The storefront glass is being installed on the addition, East side. Miscellaneous cleanup throughout the site and building is in progress.

Installation of duct work, electrical conduit and wires are being installed on 2nd and 1st floors and in the Annex. Duct installation is being finalized and insulation of the ducts is underway. Drywall is being installed on all floors. Masonry block were installed. The Fire Protection water lines and sprinkler piping are being installed throughout the building. Insulation continues to be installed in the walls.
Erecting structural steel for the addition portion adjacent to Russell Union is underway. Forming for floors and pouring concrete floors for the Addition. The submittals continue to be submitted for approval and returned approved and/or to be resubmitted with corrections. The colors of various materials have been selected and should be finalized completely, within the next few weeks. Window frames have been installed on the 3rd. floor and are progressing down to the 2nd and 1st floors. Glass has been installed on the 3rd. floor. The painters are preparing the walls for paint and have begun painting the walls, on the 4th floor. The electricians continue to install ductwork and control cabinets in the Annex Basement. Electrical and HVAC commissioning inspection was conducted for the duct work and the electrical items in the walls, in preparation of closing up the back side of the walls with sheetrock.

Duct installation continues and insulation of the ducts are underway. Drywall is being installed on all floors. Masonry block walls are being installed. They are complete on third and forth floors and are working down toward the first. Sub-contractor installed 8" water main and 2" for the tower, underneath Forest Drive, and to the Fire Protection Vault beside the Annex building. General contractor poured the concrete footings and slab for the additional portion, near the new restrooms. The submittals continue to be submitted for approval and returned approved and/or to be resubmitted with corrections.
