This project will provide a 103,481 square foot addition to the existing facility which will bring the facility's total area to 239,099 square feet. Functional components include an entrance lobby, as "Information Commons" capable of 24 hours operation, an increase in shelving space, more general seating, an automatic storage and retrieval system, a multi-purpose classroom, group study rooms and staff offices. Programs include upgrades to the existing structure as unfunded requirements. Included is the desire to replace the current exterior with a red brick facade.
Project will be completed in two phases. Phase I will add the major addition to the east of the existing library. Phrase II will address the interior renovations to the existing library.

Near Term Expected Work
General Contractor and Subcontractors are working to complete punch lists in 30 days. Florida Library Design is assembling shelves on the 3rd and 4th floors.

Punch list was provided to General Contractor excluding site and Phase II bathrooms. The architect continues to punch out floors in progression of 4th, 3rd, 1st, and 2nd. Exterior of building punch list was also provided to General Contractor.

HVAC turned on for Phase II on 5/27/08. Apply final coat of paint on 3rd and 4th floors. Complete light fixture installation and receptacles on 3rd and 4th floors. Start installation of casework 1st and 2nd floors. Finish ceiling grid installation all floors. Finish carpet installation 1st floor. Continue fine grading of site. Continue paver brick installation South. Retaining wall installation complete.

Continue mud and tape at GWB on third and fourth floors. Start painting at fourth floor “L”. Start ceiling grid installation at fourth floor. Continue paver brick installation on West. Finish MEP overhead rough in at second and fourth floors. Continue with fire penetration sealing at all floors. Start retaining wall installation at East. Re-attach hand rail at existing retaining wall West.
