New Year New You

What is NEW YEAR-NEW YOU?

The NEW YEAR-NEW YOU program is a 4-week program designed to educate and empower SAEM staff concerning their own personal fitness and wellness. If you are ready to take charge of your health and wellness, then this is the program for you!


 

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for the NEW YEAR-NEW YOU program, you must be an SAEM staff member. Individuals who participated in the New Year-New You pilot program are still eligible to participate.


 

What will I do?

The NEW YEAR-NEW YOU program will consist of 2 sets of activity days per week. There are two activity groups from which to choose. Group 1 will be a walking group. Participants will be led by a CRI fitness emlpoyee through a challenging walking regimen utilizing the indoor/outdoor tracks and treadmills. Group 2 will be a body conditioning group. Group 2 participants will be led by a CRI fitness employee who will guide them through cardiovascular as well as strength training exercises. The program is designed to orient participants to exercise regardless of skill level, so any one, from the person who has never exercised to the person who exercises daily, can join. Additional wellness education, such as nutrition sessions, will also be offered during the program as well.


 

Where do I go?

The NEW YEAR-NEW YOU program will take place at the Recreation Activity Center (RAC).


 

When will the program start?

Orientation: Friday, January 27 @ 12pm in the Seminar Room of the RAC
Program Begins: Monday, January 30
Program Ends: Friday, February 24


 

What times will the program be offered?

There are two sessions of the NEW YEAR-NEW YOU Program offered 2 times per week. The sessions are on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-12:45 p.m.. Participants will need to choose the session that best fits their schedule upon registration. In other words, participants will choose to work out on Mondays and Wednesdays at 12 or Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12. Participants may sign up for ONE SESSION ONLY. A session must have a minimum of ten participants in order to not be canceled.


 

Is there a cost for the program?

There is no cost for participation in the NEW YEAR-NEW YOU program.
