Southern Adventures will be hosting many free events throughout the year. Check back regularly as we will be adding new events and short notice weekend trips.

  Adventure Movie Series

Return Fall '08
Movies like Legally Blonde not doing it for you? Then, join Southern Adventures for our new Adventure movie series. Each month, we will be showing a movie that will appeal to the adventure in all of us. The movie will be showing in the Southern Adventures Center with food and crash pads provided. The AMS is free and open to Georgia Southern students and faculty. Food will be served at 8:00PM with the movie starting at 8:30PM. See you there!

  Bike Maintenance Clinics

February 7th, and March 6th
Like working on a car, bike maintenance and repair can be a daunting task. Join Southern Adventures for one of our free bike maintenance clinics and learn basic bicycle repair, maintenance tips to keep your bike running smooth and simple adjustments to keep your bike working better and you riding longer. Clinics are taught by trained bicycle mechanics and will include demonstrations and hands-on practice. All clinics begin at 8PM in the Southern Adventures Center. Reserve your spot by signing up in the SAC and don’t forget to bring your bike!

  Mountain Biking Skills Rodeo

February 22nd @ 3PM
If you’ve ever wanted to get into the exciting sport of mountain biking or are looking to develop better riding technique join us for one of our new skills clinics. Topics to be covered include bike and equipment selection, bike setup, riding position, riding technique and more! If you don’t have a bike, no worries, one will be provided for you to practice on free of charge. To aid in your skill development, day trips to great trails in Georgia are scheduled the following day for a small fee. Clinics are free but are limited to 8 participants so sign up early at the Southern Adventures Center.

  Kayak 101 Clinic

March 8th, & April 12th
Want to develop basic sea kayaking skills such as the wet exit, rescues, paddling techniques, tides and currents, and navigation? Come to the Kayak 101 clinic to develop the skills needed to take a kayaking trip of your own. The clinic will begin with some classroom time and then head to the indoor pool at the RAC for some hands on instruction and practice. Registration is free, but must be completed in the Southern Adventures Center no later than the day before the clinic. Everyone who participates in the clinic will receive a coupon for a free weekend kayak rental

  Group Cycling

Each Friday Southern Adventures will be leading group bike rides starting at 3PM and leaving from the parking lot in front of the SAC. Participants are welcome to borrow bikes from the rental center at no cost but we ask that you arrive 30 minutes early if you need this service. Ride distances are varied but beginners should feel comfortable and are welcome.
