FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSHow much experience do I need to go on this trip? All Southern Adventures trips are designed with the novice in mind and most participants have no prior experience with the trip's activity. That being said, all trips are challenging, so please be mentally and physically prepared for your adventure. Don't hesitate to ask Southern Adventures how you can get ready for your trip. Why would I want to go on a Southern Adventures trip? "Why wouldn't you want to go?" might be a better question. Our trips take adventurous souls all over the country with the purpose of providing unforgettable small group experiences through rewarding outdoor travel. Come hike, bike, paddle, climb, cave, and eat with Southern Adventures! Who is eligible to sign up for a trip? All Georgia Southern University students, faculty, and staff are eligible to sign up for Southern Adventures trips. How do I sign up for a trip? You can sign up at the Southern Adventures Center during regular office hours or in the main RAC office. Please bring a cash or check payment and know your Eagle ID. Where is my mandatory pre-trip meeting held? Most pre-trip meetings will be held at the RAC Pavilion. Pre-trip meetings for weekend trips are usually held at 7:00 PM on the Monday prior to the trip. Your trip leader will contact you with specific times and locations. Why are pre-trip meetings mandatory? Pre-trip meetings are important for a number of reasons. Important information is covered, paperwork is completed, participants are sized for gear, and most importantly it is a chance for all participants to meet each other prior to the trip. What does the price of the trip include? All Southern Adventures trip prices include transportation, leaders, group gear, and all specialized gear related to the activity. Extended trips may also include some food. All gear issue are discussed at the pre-trip meeting. What do I need to bring on the trip? All trip participants are responsible for all of their own clothing, spending money, as well as personal items such as toiletries, water bottles, and eating utensils. Southern Adventures will provide all gear related to the activity . A personal gear checklist will be provided at the pre-trip meeting. Can I bring my dog on the trip? Sorry dude. Leave Fido at home.
