Campus Cycle

All campus cycle bike that were rented in the Spring 2012 semester are due back the first week in May.

Campus Cycle bikes can be rented out for the Summer semesters for $15.00 per semester (A and B). Bikes rentals will start on the first day of A term classes.

Campus Cycle is designed to provide students with an inexpensive, reliable and environmentally friendly method of transportation around campus. The majority of Campus Cycle bikes are recycled bikes, taking the ones abandoned on campus, painting them, tuning them up, and returning them to the student population.

Each Campus Cycle bike is rented on a semester basis for $30. This fee includes the bike, a U-lock, and any parts or labor associated with the normal wear-and-tear of the bikes (flat tires, bent rims, gears, etc). However, fees will be assessed for bicycles showing signs of excessive damage or vandalism.

Bikes are rented out starting Sunday, August 19th 2012 from 12:00pm-3:00pm for the Fall semester.  Bikes will be available also during open hours of operation of the Southern Adventures Rental Center.

This has been a very popular program so we encourage you to arrive early to rent your bike.

• A bike IS considered a vehicle and you are responsible for knowing and following the rules of the road
• Do not ride a bike at night without lights
• Remain on the right side of the road, always ride with traffic
• Always wear a helmet
• Always pay attention to traffic and other pedestrians
• Be Visible
• Lock your bike up
• Use hand signals

Get A Bike

Sign-Up

The sign-up process will take approximately 30 minutes as we want to ensure that the bicycle is the appropiate size & fit for you. The cost is $30 and you can get your bike starting Sunday, August 19th 2012 from 12:00pm-3:00pm. Remeber that bikes are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

• Visit the Southern Adventures Center located in the RAC. Hours of operation are available here.
• Let the Southern Adventures staff know you wish to become a renter of a Campus Cycle bike.
• The staff will share a brief overview of being a Campus Cycle renter.
• You will then watch a Government safety video, which lasts approximately 8 minutes. (Feel free to ask the staff any questions or clarifications.)
• You will then work with a staff member to select & inspect the Campus Cycle bicycle.
• This will include a riding test of the bicycle in the parking lot & any adjustments required.
• You will be shown how to appropiately lock your bicycle with the lock that comes with the bicycle.
