Fitness Assessments

A FREE fitness assessment is a great way to evaluate your current fitness level. Let us help you identify areas of strengths and weaknesses and get you started on becoming more physically fit. Please visit us in the RAC Wellness Center to receive you assessment.


Fitness Assessment Lab Hours

  • Summer hours are by appointment only Please see "scheduling an appointment" below for more information.
  • Fall & Spring Semesters
    • Monday - Thursday 2:00 - 6:00
  • CLOSED during exam week and certain major break weeks. Please consult CRI's calendar for more details.

Fitness assessment tests include

  • Baseline Values
  • Body Composition
  • CardiovascularFitness
  • MuscularFitness
  • Flexibility

Remember

  • Wear athletic shorts, t-shirt and athletic shoes.
  • Drink plenty of fluids over the 24-hour period preceding the test to ensure normal hydration prior to the testing.
  • Avoid food, tobacco, alcohol, and caffeine for at least 3 hours before testing.
  • Avoid exercise or strenuous physical activity the day of the test.
  • Get an adequate amount of sleep (6-8 hours) the night before the test.

Scheduling an Appointment

  • Summer hours: Please contact Fitness Graduate Assistant Philip Thomas at pt00498@georgiasouthern.edu to schedule your summer appointment.
  • Fall & Spring hour: Sign-up on the Assessment Log located on the desk in the Wellness Center.
  • Assessments take 30 minutes.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes early to fill out necessary paperwork.
  • Failure to arrive at the scheduled time results in a forfeiture of your appointment.

Please come to the Wellness Center on the 2nd floor of the RAC.
