Group Fitness

Group Fitness classes are offered throughout the day at CRI. We provide an atmosphere that is conducive to working out and appropriate for helping individuals reach their fitness goals. Our group fitness studio is spacious, bright, and exceptionally clean. We have a variety of fitness equipment to enhance your workout. Classes incorporate the traditional steps, The BOSU, Pilate’s rings, and physioballs for strength training classes. Our fitness instructors are trained and nationally certified through ACE or AFAA, providing you with the best quality instruction. They are upbeat, energetic, and passionate about motivating others to workout with Group Fitness. Change your routine and challenge your body by dropping into our awesome Group Fitness classes.

Group Fitness Room:

  Basic Step

This class is designed for the novice stepper. This class gradually progress through the semester by increasing intensity and choreography.

  Step

If you are ready for a fun challenge step it up in this advanced step class. The instructor will introduce partner step and will choreograph moves using various steps. This high impact and intense cardio class will help increase your fitness level.

  Cardio Sculpt

With a combination of Step & Southern Sculpt classes, instructors will challenge you to strengthen and tone your muscles with a choreographed step and strength training workout. Be ready to workout & break a sweat.

  Awesome Abs

Working both the Abs and back are the key to building a strong and shapely middle. Resist-a-balls maybe incorporated into this 25 minute class.

  Kickboxing

Get an awesome workout while learning jabs, uppercuts, hooks, and kicks. Instructor will add equipment as needed.

  Beg. Boxing

Jump, jab, and kick you way to a fit body! This class combines a traditional boxing workout with a cardio fitness twist.

  Adv. Boxing

Wanting a traditional, challenging boxing workout? This advanced boxing class meets in the combatives studio and utilizes punching bags, speed bags, jump ropes, and more! Come challenge your body and your skills with this great workout!

  Beg. Hip Hop

No need to for any dance training, just the love for dance and the will to learn. Come listen to great music and let loose with the latest moves drawn from hip hop, jazz, and modern dance.

  Adv. Hip Hop

In this fun and challenging dance class training, you will learn new dance combinations and receive a great cardio workout! Come listen to great music and let loose with the latest moves drawn from hip hop, jazz, and modern dance.

  Southern Sculpt

This class is guaranteed to strengthen and tone your muscles. Be ready to workout, break a sweat, and challenge yourself with a choreographed strength training workout.

  Ultimate Upper

Looking for a way to tone your upper body? This 30 minute express class works the arms, chest, and back. You will feel the burn as we use our new gliding discs and resistance tubes to tighten and tone your upper body!

  Ultimate Lower

Does your lower end need a lift? This 30 minute express class focuses on toning and shaping the legs, thighs, and buns. Come give your lower half a boost!

  Cardio Drills

A high energy workout based on kickboxing moves and drills utilizing the punching bags and gloves.

Mind & Body Studio:

  Beginning Pilates

Adapted work of Joseph H. Pilates, this mind & body discipline follows exercises to deliver optimal strength, flexibility, and endurance. Flow through a series of movements that are more dynamic and systematic. This class will teach you how to use your core to become stronger and lengthened!

  Progressive Pilates

This Pilates class will take you from a beginner to an expert by the end of the semester! Come experience the difference Pilates can make!

  Yoga

Experience moving meditations coordinated with deep breathing and learn to integrate your body, mind, and spirit. With regular practice you will increase strength, flexibility, concentration, and a peace of mind.

 Power Yoga

This class is for the educated student of Yoga who has some knowledge of poses and alignment. Moving through a flowing series of poses is sure to make you sweat!

 Yoga Flow

Experience strength, flexibility, and relaxation through this flowing style of Yoga that focuses on meditation and breathing, followed by deep stretching and relaxation.

 Powerhouse Abs

Tired of doing the same old abs routine? This 20 minute Pilates based abs class is sure to strengthen your core and make you sweat! Come challenge your abs as we use the bender ball and our Pilates techniques to focus on the lower abs and obliques.

 Stretching

Experience the benefits of flexibility with this 20 minute stretching class! This class will help you lengthen your muscles, ease tension on your back, and increase your range of motion so that you can do more day in and day out!

Conditioning Room:

 Stride 45

To hot outside? Is it raining? Don’t have music? You won’t have any excuse for missing this workout! We brought your walking/jogging workout inside! Join us for a 45 minute group treadmill workout working at your own level. If you can walk or run , YOU CAN STRIDE! Appropriate walking/running shoes are required. Class meets on the cardio deck.

Crib (Outside Track):

 Walk & Sculpt

Tired of the same old walking routine? Join us for a walking and sculpting routine out @ the track! Learn new exercises and walking techniques to enhance your workout! This class meets @ the Crib by the intramural fields.

Spinning Studio:

 Spin 45

Experience a cardio workout like never before. This 45 minute indoor cycling class lets you workout at your own pace and challenge your body like never before!

 Spin 60

Sweating has never been so much fun! A 60 minute endurance based cardio class that emulates riding on a bike.

 Spin & Sculpt

An indoor cycling class that combines the best of both worlds, cardio and strength. You will spend part of the class riding and part of the class toning your body!

 Spin Core

Prepare to sweat and strengthen your core! This is a 35 minute spin and a 20 minute abs workout, all in one hour!

Pool:

 Aqua Sculpt

Come check out our new pool! This class uses hand buoys and webbed gloves to tone your muscles under water! Use shallow or deeper water to condition your body & water weights to strengthen without joint impact.

 Aqua Drills

This class combines the water’s natural resistance with low impact aerobic exercise for a great calorie- burning workout! Use shallow or deeper water to condition your body without the undue stress on the joints!
