University Park (Fall 2013)

The 167 acre tract of land formerly known as Southern Links Golf Course has significant potential in providing Georgia Southern students, faculty, and staff a recreational venue that will add value to the campus life and culture. In this project, Campus Recreation and Intramurals will focus on a development that will be a point of pride for students and the university.

In preparation for this development a master site plan will be executed to maximize the use of the property for recreational amenities while maintaining quality in the overall development. While all amenities may not be executed during the initial development it is desired to eventually implement as many amenities as possible.

"University Park" will be developed as a destination recreation venue given its 6.5 mile distance from the Georgia Southern University (GSU) Campus. "University Park" will be anchored by an 18 hole championship golf course that will be open to the public and supplemented with complimentary recreational activities and support facilities.

In keeping with our commitment to sustainable environments all development will be environmentally friendly and promote sustainable operations after development. In addition, appropriate considerations will be made to foster a safe, secure, accessible environment.
