Facility Policies

  • RAC (Indoor Facilities)

    • Participants are not allowed anywhere in the Fitness Center unless a CRI staff member is on duty.
    • Conditioning Room is to be locked unless supervised by a Fitness Specialist, Personal Trainer, Academic Class or CRI program.
    • All individuals exercise at their own risk.  We recommend seeing one of the Fitness Specialists if you have any questions.
    • All users of the Fitness Center/Conditioning Room must be at least 16 years of age.
    • Workout towels are mandatory.  Please return the towel to the appropriate bins after use.
    • Discontinue exercising immediately and notify staff if you feel pain, discomfort, dizziness.
    • Proper athletic attire is required:
      • No open toe or back shoes
      • No jeans, cargo shorts or pants, or clothing with zippers
      • No mesh tops
      • No weight lifting suits or “plastics”
      • Shorts must cover the buttocks and groin
      • Appropriate support and undergarments are required
      • No patterned or colored thongs/undergarments that are visible to others
      • Navel and/to chest are must be covered
    • Fitness Specialist decisions concerning appropriate clothing will be final.
    • Clean/wipe down equipment after use.
    • No outside personal training is permitted.
    • All personal items must be stored in the provided cubicles and/or lockers.
    • CRI is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
    • Staff members are not permitted to hold valuables.
    • Water in a sealable container or sport bottle is the only beverage allowed.
    • No food, gum or tobacco products allowed.
    • Immediately report any weight room injury to the Fitness Specialist.
    • Please report facility or equipment irregularity to the Fitness Specialist.
    • Please do not place hands, feet or anything against the mirrors.
    • Use of offensive language is not permitted.
    • Be considerate of others.
    • Patrons may ask for the ceiling fans to be put on if activity area is too hot.

     

    Fitness Center Policies

    • All users of the weight room must be at least 16 years of age.
    • Workout towels are mandatory.
    • Please clean equipment after use.
    • Proper athletic attire is required (closed toe/heel shoes, athletic shorts, athletic shirt). No cargo shorts, jeans, belts, or pants that contain zippers, rivots, or buttons that could potentially harm the equipment. Spandex shorts, tennis skirts, cheerleading shorts, etc. must cover the lower gluteal fold at all times. Use best judgment when assessing excessive pockets. Cut off sleeves are permitted, however, slits down the side of the torso lower than the elbow are NOT. Shirt must cover the nipple and belly button area at all times. Sports-bras without an outer shirt are not allowed.
    • Footwear must be in the form of running shoes, tennis shoes, sneakers, or other athletic footwear that provides a barrier around the foot. Boots are not allowed.
    • Sports bottles or “twist-on” cap bottles are the only permissible beverage containers allowed. No food, gum, or tobacco.
    • No outside personal training is permitted in this facility.
    • Please do not drop or throw equipment.
    • Please do not step onto leather benches.
    • Please use step-boxes but do not stack boxes to achieve a higher height.
    • Do not use Battle Rope for any other use other than it’s intended purpose.
    • Spotters are required on all free weight press stations.
    • No spotting on or around Olympic platform.
    • Collars are required on all free weight bars.
    • Chalk Sock is permitted in the platform area only and is for hand use ONLY. No open chalk allowed.
    • Return equipment and weights to their proper location.
    • Re-rack all weight plates to their proper location.
    • Please share equipment during peak hours. 30 minutes time limit.
    • Use of offensive language is not permitted.
    • Report any injuries or equipment problems to the Fitness Staff.
    • All personal items must be stored in the provided cubicles or lockers, CRI is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

    Policy violations may result in ejection from the facility.

    Other Fitness Center Policies

    • Participants are not allowed in the fitness center unless a Fitness Staff is on duty.
    • All individuals exercise at their own risk. We recommend seeing one of the Fitness Staff if you have questions.
    • Discontinue exercising immediately and notify staff if you feel pain, discomfort, or dizziness.
    • Trash bags, sweat bags, sweat suits or any other material that inhibits the exchange of body heat or promotes water loss will not be allowed.
    • No sitting on cubicles.
    • Please do not place hands, feet or anything else against the mirrors.
    • People socializing in groups that congest the weight room will be asked to disperse or leave.
    • Fitness equipment shall not leave the resistance room. I.e. fitness equipment can not travel from downstairs to upstairs.
    • Be considerate of others.
    • Staff members are not permitted to hold valuables.
    • Respect for equipment and facilities must be demonstrated at all times. Misuse of equipment and facilities may result in immediate expulsion and/or loss of additional privileges.

    Fitness Center (Cardio Deck)

    • All participants must be 16 years of age or older.
    • Workout towels are mandatory.
    • Proper athletic attire is required (closed toe/heel shoes, athletic shorts, athletic shirt). No cargo shorts, jeans, belts, or pants that contain zippers, rivots, or buttons that could potentially harm the equipment. Spandex shorts, tennis skirts, cheerleading shorts, etc. must cover the lower gluteal fold at all times. Use best judgment when assessing excessive pockets. Cut off sleeves are permitted, however, slits down the side of the torso lower than the elbow are NOT. Shirt must cover the nipple and belly button area at all times. Sports-bras without an outer shirt are not allowed.
    • Footwear must be in the form of running shoes, tennis shoes, sneakers, or other athletic footwear that provides a barrier around the foot. Boots are not allowed.
    • Limit time to 30 minutes on all equipment while others are waiting.
    • Sports bottles or “twist-on” cap bottles are the only permissible beverage containers allowed. No food, gum, or tobacco.
    • Report any injuries or equipment problems to the Fitness Staff.
    • Please clean equipment after use.
    • No outside personal training is permitted in this facility.
    • All personal items must be stored in the provided cubicles or lockers, CRI is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

    Indoor Running Track

    • Proper athletic attire is required (closed toe/heel shoes, athletic shorts, athletic shirt). No cargo shorts, jeans, belts, or pants that contain zippers, rivots, or buttons that could potentially harm the equipment.     • Patrons must follow the directional signs for that day.
    • Standing or stretching on the track is prohibited.
    • No sprinting, lunging, bounding or backwards movement is allowed.
    • Bags and personal items must be placed on a bench or in a cubicle.
    • Track will not be utilized as a shortcut to the Group Fitness Studios.
    • Jogging lanes – 3 & 4 (Outside lanes)
    • Walking lanes – 1 & 2 (Inside lanes)
    • Give right of way to people passing on the track.
    • Please see Track Direction signs for daily direction of travel.

    Racquetball Court Policies

    • Only non-marking balls and shoes are allowed.
    • Metal and wooden racquets must have a protective bumper and wrist ropes/straps.
    • Protective eyewear is required.  The protective eyewear must be worn as designed and may not be altered.  Players who require corrective eyewear also must wear protective eyewear over their corrective lenses.
    • If any player is found not properly wearing eye guards, he/she will be given one verbal warning.  Subsequent violations may result in suspension from the RAC.
    • All personal items must be stored in the provided court storage box, cubicles, benches, and/or lockers.
    • The wallyball nets can only be set up and taken down by the Facility Management Staff.
    • No more than eight people can be on a court playing wally-ball at the same time.

    Racquetball Reservation Policies

    • Racquetball courts are scheduled on the hour.
    • Reservations are taken at the Equipment Desk or by calling (912) 478-1111.
    • Reservations can be made two days in advance beginning at 6:00am weekdays, 8:00am on Saturdays and 11:00am on Sundays.  Court reservations for Monday may be made on Friday.
    • When reserving a court, the individual must indicate his/her first and last name, and phone number.
    • An individual can only reserve one court for one hour per day.
    • Participants who reserve a court can cancel the reservation up to two hours prior to the reserved time without penalty.
    • A 10-minute grace period is given to no-shows. After this time has passed, walk-ins may use the court until the next reserved time slot.
    • Participants must check-in with the Equipment Desk before they can begin play. Those who fail to check-in, or fail to cancel their reservation, will not be able to reserve a court for one week.
    • CRI provides racquets, goggles, and balls for patron use thru the Equipment Desk. Participants that do not wear their goggles are given a verbal warning once. Subsequent violations result in the ejection of the participant.
    • Only Courts 1 thru 4 may be reserved. Court 5 is the Challenge Court, where in order to play on that court a team has to win a challenge match (to 15 points). The winner may stay on the court for up to three consecutive games.
    • Only non-marking athletic shoes allowed. Jeans and other apparel with zippers are not permitted.

    Basketball Courts and Rooms (including Courts 1-3, Auxiliary Gym, Courts 5-6 & MAC Gym)

    • Hanging on rims is not permitted.
    • Deliberate abuse of walls, doors, ceilings, equipment, ect. is not permitted.
    • Jewelry is not permitted on courts.  This includes, but is not limited to necklaces, rings, bracelets, wristbands, watches, earrings/studs, and other piercings.
    • Hats are not permitted to be worn during participation.
    • Contact the Front Desk for assistance with equipment, disassembling or moving equipment is not permitted.
    • Volleyball and badminton nets and standards will be set up and taken down by the CRI staff only.
    • Open recreation basketball and volleyball have court priority, with the exception of events scheduled by CRI.

    Studio 1 (Combative Studio)

    • Please remove shoes before entering mat room and place shoes into the cubbies provided.
    • Hand wraps and gloves MUST be worn
      • Available for checkout at the Equipment Issue Desk
    • Kicking the speed bags is not permitted.
      • Kicking the speed bags bursts the bladders inside causing them to deflate
    • Hanging from the speed bag platform is not permitted.
    • Swinging on the heavy bags is not permitted.
    • Sparring and horseplay are not allowed.
    • Plastic sweat suits are not allowed.
    • 30 minute time limit when someone is waiting.
    • Water in a sealable container or sport bottle is the only beverage allowed.
    • No food, gum or tobacco.
    • Proper athletic attire is required.
    • Only non-marking shoes are allowed.
    • Heels are not allowed at any time.
    • Speed bags and U-hooks are available for check-out at the Equipment Desk with Eagle ID card.

    Studio 2/Multipurpose Room

    • Water in a sealable container or sport bottle is the only beverage allowed.
    • No food, gum or tobacco.
    • Proper athletic attire is required.
    • Only non-marking shoes are allowed.
    • Heels are not allowed at any time (unless approved and floor covers have been laid down).
    • Please do not touch mirrors.
    • Do not move ballet bars, unless permitted by CRI Management Team.
    • Shoes are not required in this room.

    Group Fitness Studios (General Policies)

    • Workout towels are mandatory in the spin room. Towels are strongly encouraged in other group fit areas.
    • Water in a sealable container or sport bottle is the only beverage allowed.
    • No food, gum or tobacco.
    • Proper athletic attire is required. (No zippers, jeans, or cargo pants)
    • Only non-marking shoes are allowed. (No Boat Shoes)
    • Heels are not allowed at any time.
    • Report any injuries or equipment problems to the Instructor.
    • Personal hand weights are not allowed.  Facility hand weights are provided for appropriate classes, and may only be used at the direction of the Instructor.  (No dropping equipment)
    • Please do not touch mirrors.
    • All Group Fitness equipment is to remain in the Group Fitness Studio and stored properly.
    • Please clean equipment before leaving class. (Required in Spin Room)
    • Only CRI staff are allowed to use the stereo and Red Phone.
    • All personal items must be stored in the provided cubicles and/or lockers; CRI is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
    • Silence all cell phones and pagers.
    • Plan to complete entire warm up and cool down.
    • Multiple failures to adhere to CRI Group Fitness Policies will result in class suspension.
    • Class numbers are limited.  Arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to class to receive directions from the instructor.
    • Group Fitness Classes are closed after the warm-up session begins; no one will be admitted into class after this time.
    • There must be 2 participants present to conduct the class. The instructor must wait 15 minutes after the start of the class before cancelling.

    Group Fitness Studio (Spinning Studio)
    In addition to the above listed Group Fitness Studio General Policies, please adhere to the following in the Spinning Studio:

    • All first time riders are encouraged to arrive early (5-10 mins) for proper set-up.
    • During peak hours, bikes are available on a first come first serve basis; may not reserve bikes for other people unless they are present.
    • Please wipe down the machine, including your seat and handrails when you are finished.  Cleaning towels and bottles are provided inside the Spinning Studio.
    • Place bike in correct position before leaving class. (Seat post “S” level, handles bars “10”)
    • Spinning studio should be locked unless supervised by a Spinning Instructor.
    • Water bottle and a towel are required to take the class.

    Climbing Wall & Bouldering Cave

    • Report any injuries or equipment problems to the climbing wall supervisor.
    • Please be courteous and respectful to other participants.
    • All belayers must hold a current belay certification through Southern Adventures.
    • Appropriate footwear is required. (Vibram Five Finger shoes are prohibited)
    • Climbers are encouraged to remove jewelry, objects from pockets, and to secure eyewear.
    • Water, in a sealable container or sport bottle, is the only beverage allowed.
    • All personal equipment must be approved by the climbing wall staff.
    • Loose chalk is not allowed.  Chalk must be contained in an appropriate bag.
      • Chalk may be checked out at the Equipment Issue Desk
    • Un-roped climbing above the designated bouldering height is prohibited.
    • Climbing helmets are recommended and available upon request.
    • All personal items must be stored in the provided cubicles and/or lockers; CRI is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
    • The climbing wall supervisor’s word is final.
    • Report any injuries or equipment problems to the climbing wall supervisor or Equipment Issue Desk (if no climbing wall supervisor on duty).

     

    Seminar, Conference, & Wet Classrooms
    These areas generally serve as group meeting spaces, but the rooms can be rearranged and set up to accommodate a wide range of events.  Food and drink are allowed in these spaces as long as prior approval has been given. Clean up is the responsibility of the reserving group. The AV equipment is available in this space. If the facilities/equipment is damaged or equipment is lost, the group reserving the space will lose privileges and face penalties sanctioned by the RAC or judicial affairs. These areas will be locked unless occupied because they are not intended for drop in use; they must be reserved.
