2009-2010 Membership Policies

  Students

Full time students taking 4 or more On-Campus hours pay student RAC fees, which enables them to use CRI facilities.

  Non Fee Paying Student (taking less than 4 On-Campus hours)

These students are not assessed the RAC fee in their tuition. They are required to purchase a membership that allows them access to CRI facilities.

  Student Spouse/Partner

Student spouses/partners are eligible for membership at the annual rate of $336. To purchase a membership, the current student spouse/partner must be present and verify through university form, joint checking account and/or joint home or auto ownership and a current student ID.

  Faculty/Staff

GSU faculty/staff with a valid ID are eligible to purchase a RAC membership to utilize CRI facilities. The cost of the membership is $288 a year.

  Faculty/Staff Spouses

Spouses of faculty, and staff are eligible to purchase a RAC membership that allows them access to CRI facilities. The cost of the membership is $336 a year.

  Faculty/Staff Dependents

Faculty/staff are eligible to purchase memberships for their dependents. Dependents under 16 can utilize the RAC from 4:00pm on Friday until 6:00pm on Sunday. They have access from the first day of classes until the last day of exams during Fall and Spring semesters. The cost of this membership is $150 for a year and gives access to one dependent. While GSU students are on break or during Summer semester, children may use the facility during normal hours of operation. All children under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult while using the facility. The cost of the membership is $50 a semester.

  Faculty/Staff Dependents

Age 16 - 25

Dependents 16 and older are still eligible for a regular membership. An ID with the same address as member, joint checking, and DOB required for verification.

Under 16

Under-16 dependent memberships are for weekends only and holiday hours (Friday after 4:00 pm-Sunday until 6:00 pm). The dependent must be accomanied by an adult member while using the facility.

  Retirees

GSU faculty/staff retirees are eligible to purchase a membership to the RAC.

  Retired Faculty/Staff Spouse/Parter

Retired faculty/staff spouses are eligible for memberships that will give them access to CRI facilities. Proof of couple/partner/dependent status is required through a university form, marriage certificate, joint checking account home or auto ownership or other documentation verification. The cost of the membership is $144 for a year.

  Alumni

Georgia Southern Alumni who are members of the Alumni Association may utilize the RAC from 4:00 p.m. on Friday until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Alumni from the graduating class of 2004-2007 will receive a free membership, weekends only, through the 2008-09 academic year. Current Georgia Southern University Alumni Membership Card must be presented at time of purchase

  Guest

The primary purpose for courtesy passes is to accommodate the friends and relatives of Georgia Southern University students and RAC members. Secondary audiences for courtesy passes are: University guests (such as workshop, short-term conference guests and University sponsored athletic camps) or visiting faculty/staff. In these instances arrangements for the guest must be made in advance through the Associate Director of Facilities & Fitness and proof of involvement of workshop, conference, etc. will need to be provided.

• University guests that would like to use the RAC, but have not been given a complementary guest pass must have the sponsoring department contact the Associate Director of Facilities & Fitness for guest pass use.
• Guests under 16 years of age are only allowed in the RAC on weekends during Fall & Spring semesters (after 4:00 on Fridays – 6:00 on Sundays) and all day in the summer.
• The cost of the guest pass will be covered by the guest at a rate of $5.00 per day.
• Student, faculty, and staff members may bring 2 guests per day.
• Guest passes may be purchased at the Front Desk.
• Guests must sign a liability waiver form.
• CRI reserves the right to approve or deny any guest pass transaction.
• Members must check in at the same time as the guest and remain at the facility the entire time the guest is there.
o Exceptions will be made for visiting faculty/staff hosted by a University department.
o Members are responsible for the actions of their guests. If a guest does not adhere to the policies of CRI facilities, the member and guest may be asked to leave.
o The sponsor’s current membership must be verified before being allowed to purchase a guest pass.
o The guest’s sponsor will be responsible for checking out any equipment and be held responsible for damages to equipment and/or facility caused by his/her guest(s).
• All guests must have a photo driver’s license or government issued photo identification with address and proof of age unless guest is dependent or child.
• Guest passes may contain an expiration date.
• Guest passes are for facility access and any regularly scheduled, no-cost programming taking place in the RAC.
• Guest passes are valid for the date of purchase only, re-enter is permitted on that day but only when accompanied by RAC sponsor (receipt must be shown upon re-entry)
• A guest cannot host another guest.
• A guest is not eligible to participate in Intramural activities.
• Sponsors must check out and are responsible for any equipment used by guests.

There will not be a refund of fees in the unfortunate event of the loss of recreational privileges.
