- GRADUATE ASSISTANTS, INTERNATIONAL & NURSING STUDENTS AND THE MANDATORY PLAN -

Each semester period (fall and spring/summer) you will need to either enroll in, or waive out of, the mandatory plan through the Pearce & Pearce Georgia Southern online program.

The information you provide, particularly the e-mail address you use most often, will be used to create your own login page which you can go back into to print our a temporary ID card and do network provider searches. Information from the Insurance Program Administrator, Pearce & Pearce, will also be sent to you via this secure Website.

- 2009-2010 ACADEMIC YEAR: PLAN ENROLLMENT INFO & PREMIUM RATES -

Open enrollment, including waiver of the University System of Georgia (USG) Student Health Insurance Program (SHIP) coverage Mandatory Plan, using the Pearce & Pearce on-line enrollment process for the Fall Semester begins immediately and will end on 8/31/2009.  The Mandatory Plan(s) on-line waiver process will end on 9/18/2009.   Open Enrollment for the 2010 Spring Semester and Summer Sessions begins 1/1/2010 and ends 1/31/2010. Students should enroll in or waive out of the USG SHIP plans by using the Pearce and Peace plan administrators online program.

For the 2009-2010 school year, there are two Mandatory Plans for students required to have insurance. Those two plans are the Graduate Mandatory and Undergraduate Mandatory. If you are part of these Mandatory Groups you will have the insurance premium charged to your tuition bill. Students in these mandatory groups will have the option to waive the student insurance if they have a pre-approved insurance plan by using the Waive Online link on the Georgia Southern University Pearce & Pearce & Pearce online program: Pearce & Pearce.  The Voluntary Plan is a good option for students who are not required to have insurance, but need health insurance coverage.

- PHARMACY COVERAGE -

The Express Scripts System will be used in 2009-2010 to allow the Health Service Pharmacy to file USG SHIP prescription. This will allow USG SHIP covered Georgia Southern students to fill their prescriptions at the Health Services onsite pharmacy without having to pay and submit claims for reimbursement.  There are no co-pays for prescriptions filled at the Health Services pharmacy.

The informedRx system will be used to allow off campus pharmacies participating in the informedRX system to file USG SHIP prescriptions at 100% after $15 generic copayment / $30 brand name co-pay per 30-day supply per month.
