From the Georgia Southern University Chief of Medical Staff
On June 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) increased the Pandemic Alert Level to Phase 6, which indicates that a global pandemic is underway. The WHO’s decision to raise the pandemic alert level to Phase 6 is a reflection of the spread of the virus, not the severity of illness caused by the virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continues to take appropriate action to respond to the H1N1 (Swine) Flu outbreak throughout the country. (continued after the jump)
